From Illiterate Peasant to Patron of Priests: The Miraculous Journey of St. John Vianney
Born into poverty in 1786 France, John Vianney faced impossible odds. Working as a child and illiterate at 17, the lack of education and political persecution seemed to close the door on his spiritual dreams. But with the guidance of Father Balley, John’s unwavering faith led to his ordination in 1815.
Sent to the small parish of Ars in 1818, he transformed it into a beacon of hope. He founded the Institute of Providence to shelter orphans, tirelessly visited the sick, and became world-renowned for his ministry of Confession. Today, thousands of pilgrims still visit his resting place at the Sanctuary of Ars, seeking the same intercession that drew crowds two centuries ago. Beatified in 1905 and canonised in 1925, St. John Vianney was proclaimed the "Patron of Parish Priests."
